About the Role:
Boston Scientific is looking for an experienced, senior level System Administrator to support projects within Windows System Management of IS Operations. This position requires a strong foundation of technical skills in a Microsoft Windows Desktop Environment coupled with a strategic mindset, ability to collaborate with others and effective communication skills.
Your Responsibilities Include:
:Responsible for in:depth troubleshooting of complex laptopdesktop issues for root cause and recommended solution
:Mentorship of less experienced resources : Endpoint Compute System Administrators Levels 1 and 2 along with contractors and other support staff
:Provide translation of business requirements into technical designs for end user computing initiatives
:System automation and application packaging using PowerShell VBSCRIPT while delivering via Microsoft Configuration Manager (CM)
:Develop and implement process automation via PowerShell
:Demonstrates technical leadership by staying current on new technologies
:Maintains up to date knowledge on the most recent scripting, packaging, and endpoint client management technologies and evaluates vendor products by reviewing white papers, attending conferences and vendor demonstrations
:Maintains collaborative working relationship with IS services (database, data center, servers, desktop, networking, security), and software vendors, as needed
:Implements continuous improvements (upgrades and patches) to ensure the environment is preventively maintained, running properly and protected from computer viruses and/or other security threats
:Interacts with users and other IS teams to accommodate requests for services
:Creates and maintains all required technical documentation per IS methodology and processes
:Leads trouble shooting initiatives and resolves failures by analyzing issues and implementing corrective actions. Leads root cause analysis and takes measures to address root cause analysis findings
:Leads project work stream activities, working with internal and external cross:functional groups
:Adheres to project plans, tasks, and deliverables; identify dependencies and resource requirements
:Appropriately communicates project status, escalate issues, and manage timelines and action itemsLeads the development and monitoring of policies and standards for server equipment resource capacity allocation to users and applications.
What We're Looking For:
:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
:8+ years' experience with Windows client end point management (Windows 7 and Windows 10)
:4+ years' experience managing small to medium system development projects
:4+ years' in software application packaging and deployment via CM or other similar technologies
:Strong application and hardware troubleshooting experience
:Detailed knowledge of Windows OS (client and server), Active Directory, and Group Policy
:Experience in reporting and techniques to automate processes using PowerShell and VBSCRIPT or other scripting languages
:Previous experience as a leading member of a development team with assignments in all phases of the software lifecycle and have strong skills in documenting work
:Experience with CM Operating System Deployment (OSD) for Windows Client Baselines
