As an Automation Developer, you will ensure that the strategic value of Automation technologies are delivered and maintained. You will be focused, but not limited to, Robotic Process Automation development and other continuous improvement activities in a customer-centric way. You will work in collaborative and agile environment, surrounded by other Continuous Improvement enthusiasts, building AMAZING solutions for our Roche peers and ultimately impacting our patients

In this role you will…
- Design, develop, test, support solutions to automate processes through RPA and enhanced workflow automation platforms.
- Be the go-to-person for all technical questions on the implementation and operations of automation processes, especially bring the technical judgement to table when it comes to select the best tool for a use case
- Operate the robots and have an open ear for suggestions of the process owners
- Embrace new ways of working with fast iterations, lean documentation and planning, close alignment to our colleagues from business and IT and close communication across global teams
- Collaborate in an agile and cross-functional team with other Automation Experts, Methodology Experts, and Process Mining Experts to blend various fields and technologies such as: Business Process Mining, Lean Six Sigma, Agile Project Management, SAP Script, Google Script and more, so our Roche peers and patients will receive AMAZING solutions
- Partner closely with Services & Solutions Owners and Regional Portfolio Managers.
- Transition and maintain automations in production, as required.
- Lead implementations with regional and/or global teams
- Participate in requirements gathering and design through client meetings, interviews, and workshops.
- Collaborate with colleagues in other departments and countries, helping them by assessing their existing processes for automation opportunities to improve process effectiveness and quality.
- Review the technical progress of a project and insure the correct deployment and solve issues.
- Assess automation opportunities from a technical perspective to arrive at an optimal solution.
- Participate in deployment of RPA platform components, including bots, orchestrators, development tools, and systems integrations, to meet enterprise requirements for security, scalability, and performance.
- Perform demos, code reviews, and retrospectives; communicates ideas for team continuous improvement and willingly receives feedback for self-improvement.
Education / Qualification
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or technical field or equivalent experience in the area of Automation
- English is the mandatory language for all Roche internal interaction, additional foreign language skills are an asset
Work Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in Robotic Process Automation’s solutions using UiPath or similar
- 5+ years’ experience in business-facing IT role, or business/process analytics role
- Proficient programming skills in one or more of the following languages: JavaScript, Node.JS, .Net, VBA.
- Experience with Scrum / Agile development methodologies.
