The Director, Operational Excellence will create standardized frameworks for continuous improvement, customer relationship management, project management, internal control environment, and key performance metric development across all the different departments within the Regional Delivery Center. This position will work in close alignment with the Global Process Owners and Finance IT leaders, and its Operational excellence pears in the other regional centers within MSD. For this purpose, this position will be required to identify, develop and implement best practices around these topics in support of the RDC to deliver seamless execution; innovation and value add business support.
Responsibilities
- Perform Six Sigma or Lean analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective process improvements and resolution for any identified problem
- Design, develop and implement process improvement and project management training programs
- Manage Project Portfolio and Coordinate future transitions to the RDC
- Develop Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements to manage the operation effectively and in line with stakeholder's expectations.
- Develop and deploy customer relationship management strategy and service culture, through definition of the cultural, process, systems, and communication methodologies.
- Manage process risk by the development and implementation of policies and internal controls to comply with accounting guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance with SOX and company policies.
- Support talent development through the recruitment, onboarding, certificate and training employees to ensure the delivery of operational objectives and the creation of a culture of operational excellence.
- Partner with stakeholders in order to define objectives, align expectation, and ensure an "end to end" approach to process change and improvements.
- Define strategies to achieve objectives and goals while effectively managing service delivery cost.
Qualifications
Education:
Required: Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Industrial Engineering.
Preferred: Master Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Shared Service Center experience in similar roles
- Demonstrated success collaborating regionally/globally with Process Owners, IT implementation teams
- Demonstrating success in positions involving influence and interaction with other departments and interaction with external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Capabilities:
- Ability to understand needs from various internal stakeholders at a global, regional and country level, and to develop strategies based on such insights and needs.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Adaptability and flexibility to switch between projects and priorities if necessary.
- Strong, communication, interpersonal and teaching skills, and ability to interact constructively with all functions and management levels.
- Strong business acumen
- Field based role with ability to travel 30:40.
