About the Role:
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for the management and execution of the Suppliers Quality Program in Costa Rica site and acts as the quality system input person.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Work closely with Materials Department to efficiently select, qualify, and manage all levels of suppliers to consistently meet product quality requirements.
- Work closely with R and D department to develop test methods, First Article Inspection processes and inspection methods to qualify new or existent materials.
- Work closely with the Receiving Inspection function to identify troublesome areas that require action and provide technical guidance to suppliers in order to improve their quality performance.
- Assist suppliers in formation of statistical sampling plans, inspection methodology, and quality procedures.
- Provide technical consultation to others on inspection techniques and acceptance criteria.
- Serve as technical resource for process improvements projects such as alternative measurement, value improvement projects, qualification of suppliers, or testing methodologies on supplier's data.
- Problem solving facilitator through classical and experimental design methods.
- Provide hands:on technical support for the Receiving Inspection personnel as required.
- Responsible for the development of inspection methods for new materials and components.
- Serve as part of auditing teams and as lead auditor for Supplier Quality, as required.
- Responsible for trending, monitoring and management of Supplier Corrective Actions (SCAR).
- Responsible for trending, monitoring and management of Supplier Audits.
- Be able to generate and follow:up Supplier Corrective Actions.
- Assist in the qualification, selection, and development of new suppliers as needed.
- Member of new product development teams (as needed) and product transfer strategy (required).
- Execute and provide technical consultation for First Article Inspection process.
- Eventually could have personnel in charge such us: Incoming Inspector, Incoming Inspector Technician or coordinator. Supervises, organizes and plans the tasks for direct reports (if applicable). Keeps track of the new direct reports during the first three months of labor, to evaluate their performance in their position and leaves documented evidence about it (if applicable). Follows up direct reports in order to carry out their performance evaluation (if applicable).
What We're Looking For:
:Licenciature in Industrial engineer, business administration or related
:At least 5 years of experience in similar position
:English level of B2+ (80:89)
:ASQ Certification CQE,CRE,SSGB,CQM) strongly desired
:Project Management skills
