Corporate Learning Management Systems Administrator

The LMS Administrator is part of the Digital Learning Solutions team that is responsible for the support and delivery of the corporately supported learning technologies for all 3M Business Groups and its customers. This is done in a way that accelerates customer engagement by matching world class and innovative technology solutions to customer/learner needs. The team is encompassed of a group of practitioners and vendors focused on digital learning delivery, design and content practices that expand the role of technology-based customer engagement at 3M and take customer education to a new level of innovation and impact.

Job Description:

The Learning Management Systems Administrator provides technical leadership and expertise in the support of 3M’s Corporately supported tech stack which currently includes SumTotal, 3M’s Learning Management System (LMS). This role is responsible for the support, delivery, and maintenance of content, assets, and other resources used for instructional functions using established processes and guidelines. The Learning Management System Administrator is the primary global corporate system administrator for 3M’s Business Groups digital learning platform and oversees the installation of all system updates and upgrades, as well as tools and software integrated with the Learning Management System platform.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

· Master Learning System Administration duties.

· Provide training and support for Learning Management System Administrators worldwide.

· Work with Business Group content owners to upload and test new eLearning courses.

· Manage testing of new system releases and upgrades in conjunction with global administrators. Design test plans, work plans, and testing acceptance criteria.

· Collaborate with business product owners to support technical reviews and Q&A.

· Respond to support issues from the customer help desk. Manage and track issue resolution through 3M and LMS ticketing systems.

· Attend and represent the Corporate LMS team at vendor trainings and meetings as assigned.

· Create standard report templates working in conjunction with reporting analyst(s).

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience as a Learning Management System administrator or similar position.
- Technical skills including troubleshooting, and understanding of directory, file structures, and systems.
- Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization as well as vendors.
- Ability to gain new technical skills quickly.
- Customer service skills, responsive attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts in layman’s terms.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree.
- Coursework and/or certifications relating to administration of the learning management system platform.
- Content or knowledge management experience.
- Familiarity with course design and development tools such as Articulate Storyline 2.
- Working knowledge of multiple web design technologies, such as HTML.
- Experience working with an international team.
- Familiarity with Jira and Agile methodologies.
