As an Unix/Linux engineer for Cloud services, you take over responsibility for the delivery of several Unix/Linux based servers with focus on continuous operations, project and change management.
The main goal is to minimize the amount of unplanned downtime in the customer's production servers in your responsibility, to execute the implementation/optimizations in the customer’s infrastructure and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
This includes the participation in technical projects, consulting, proactive capacity and availability management.
You will be member of Unix/Linux 3rd line engineers working under supervision of Delivery Lead to achieve defined targets (SLA and SLO).
Main responsibilities
Provide technical support and leadership in a complex mission critical infrastructure environments.
Ensure that services under your responsibility are delivered according to the Service description (SLO and SLA).
Closely cooperate with other technology teams to establish implementation plans for changes, projects and backup&recovery.
Ensure components supported are maintained, optimized and used effectively.
Is responsible for full cycle development, deployment to go-live, live phase and end-of-life.
Ensure compliance with HP internal technology standards and solutions.
Act as the change planner and/or change implementer.
Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years practical experience in Unix/Linux administration.
Excellent in administration of RHEL and SUSE Linux, HP Unix and/or vSphere knowledge is an advantage.
Working knowledge of HP ProLiant blade series.
Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written in English.
Analytical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
Service oriented behavior and communication to internal and external contacts.
Excellent in administration of RHEL,SUSE Linux or vSphere knowledge
Good knowledge of VMWare console.
