Logistic And Warehouse Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION: MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE Responsible for Warehouse, logistics and shipping functions of the Abbott Costa Rica Site. Supervises the operations and staff involved in Warehousing, shipping and Import/Export. Responsible for our warehousing management system. Facilitate/coach distribution process /projects improvements.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Hire, train, and supervise warehouse, Import, Export, Shipping and Receiving staff.
- Develop activities and reports to ensure expected service level and KPI’s; inventory accuracy throughout facility, Optimal freight spend and overall efficient utilization of resources (warehouse utilization; streamline of processes throughout).
- Responsible for documentation associated with inbound and outbound shipments including FTZ specific requirements.
- Ensure that effective operating procedures are used in products warehousing and distribution activities.
- Responsible for shipping, inventory control, and storage of parts and products. Maintain cycle count accuracy at or above stated divisional goals.
- Responsible to coordinate and obtain local government permits to import or export parts and products.
- Make recommendations to management regarding staffing, space requirements, safety procedures and security of warehouse facilities.
- Standardize practices and improve efficiencies. Drive, facilitate, coach and implement distribution processes and projects improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administrator, Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years prior experience in a logistics, distribution or warehouse environment, required.
- 2+ years previous supervisory experience required.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint).
- Intermediate oral and written communication in English and Spanish
- Proficiency in MS Project preferred.
- ERP experience required (SAP preferred).
- APICS certification, it’s a plus.
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and import/export compliance desired.
- Strong background in transportation and logistics and all applicable laws and regulations.
