**Team/Department Description**:
The Manager-Accounting sits within the Moody's Shared Services team within Controllership, reporting directly to the AVP-Accounting.
The Controllership provides Moody's senior management team with the financial information needed to develop successful business strategies. They are responsible for revenue accounting and, establishing financial policies, and financial reporting related to Revenue.

**Role/Responsibilities**:
The Manager-Accounting will be responsible for overseeing and performing day-to-day operations of the Revenue Accounting team including being actively involved in M&A activities and analyzing and balancing Revenue accounts and accurately and timely closing of the books.

Accounting
Coordinate the Revenue Accounting team at Costa Rica to complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities accurately and on time, facilitating compliance with all financial reporting deadlines and control policies.
Possess strong accounting and US GAAP knowledge. ASC606 experience is a plus.
Support integration of acquisitions into Moody's systems and processes. Identify non-compliance with US GAAP for these acquisitions
Lead the CR Revenue Team's interaction with Global Sales, Sales Operations, Legal (Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific) to provide timely Finance support on contracts reviews
Lead the CR Revenue Team's interaction with FP&A in order to update them on forecasted revenue changes and upcoming arrangements and the effect on revenue recognition
Review and approve all journal entries, reconciliations and analyses completed by CR Revenue Team based on Moody's accounting procedures and controls, ensuring they follow U.S. regulations.
Assist AVP-Accounting to implement and complete controls and identify high-risk areas to facilitate compliance with U.S requirements and all national and/or regional laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities.
Provide timely assistance to seamlessly support external audit and SOX/internal audit requests.
Work with the Financial Systems team to assist in identification, research, and resolution of technical accounting issues
Identify and lead timely execution of process initiatives and ad-hoc projects, bringing up risks and issues as appropriate, to drive operational efficiencies and improved controls.
Support regional leadership through business partnering by providing metrics, problem resolution, and reporting process performance.
Management
Supervise and lead the Costa Rica Revenue Accounting team of approximately 3-5 team members, ensuring communication and coordination within and across teams and shifts.
Facilitate interactions between team members and business to promote cross-functional ways of working and promote seamless hand-offs.
Work with 'AVP-Accounting' to run direct reports' goals and objectives, prepare employee performance evaluations in a timely manner, and ensure staff maintains Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results within management expectations where necessary.
Develop/mentor team; provide advice, counselling, soft skills mentorship; interpersonal, interaction skills, and review of focus areas from Business Efficiency Survey (BES) scores.
Monitor staff utilization.
Supervise and call out personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
Develop Moody's culture and values.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum 6 years of accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Accounting Certifications (e.g., Chartered Accountant, CPA, etc.)
Advanced understanding of accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, statutory accounting principles and tax requirements
Experience working with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce is a plus.
Broad mix of operational and functional experiences with a sound understanding of risks and issues that impact global service delivery and operations, particularly in accounting.
Ability to get along with customers to ensure a high quality of service, while balancing expectations and realizations
Must be able to communicate ideas both orally and in writing to influence others through one-on-one conversations, formal presentations, and group discussions.
