About The Role
:This is a key position within BSC Costa Rica providing dedicated support in the management of a team dealing with all aspects of materials VIP, supplier and materials selection. You will be responsible for technical leadership and resolution of non:conformance from the supply chain whilst driving improvement through robust closure of actions. In parallel you will assist in the development of supply:chain capability focused on continuous improvement.
You're Responsibilities Include:
:Drive value improvement programs with suppliers and support validation plans for new and substitute materials/suppliers
:Technical lead on a team comprising members from purchasing, supplier quality and business streams responsible for all aspects of supplier management for a dedicated category of purchased components (plastics and packaging, metals or chemicals).
:Demonstrate technical leadership skills in the category management. Communicate effectively to all stakeholders and receive buy:in from customers. Responsible for achieving business objectives of the team in terms of Quality, Cost and Service.
:Lead investigation of component/materialn++quality issues as they arise : work with quality, supply chain, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve issues and to disposition product.
:Develop new supply sources with purchasing team : qualify components to specified parameters.
:Contributes to the development, maintenance and improvements of supplier management policies and procedures.
:Provides guidance to other functional areas in applying supplier management system requirements
:Ensuring that adequate corrective action is put in place by suppliers and monitor effectiveness of same.

:Lead/work on Process Improvement teams relating to component usage or design.
:Work closely with suppliers globally andn++to execute Value Engineering/Component Engineering opportunities to take cost out of product.
:Assist in the negotiation process with suppliers by providing specific category technical expertise.
Requirements
:Bachelors degree in Materials Science, Chemist or Mechanical Engineering.
:At least80 English.
:Knowledge in Polimeters, moldings, resin, metals.
:The person must be very innovated,results oriented and building good interpersonal relationship.
:Proficiency in communication skills, analysis and statistics.
:One year in the current position.
