**GROUP/DIVISION SUMMARY**Reporting in to Global Colleague Shared Services, Global Payroll is an a critical, dynamic and evolving function that is responsible for the accurate pay of over 110,000 colleagues across the world.***The Payroll Merger and Acquisition and Special Projects Manager is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and executing steps related to successful acquisitions, divestitures, and special one-off projects with the goal of aligning with current internal payroll systems, processes, and resources. During this process, the Payroll M&A and SP Manager will be responsible and accountable to collaborate with internal key stakeholders across business units and external parties to identify the necessary sum of parts required to achieve seamless integrations.This position will serve in a consultative manner for acquisitions, divestures, and special projects related to standardizing and integrating into the identified payroll service delivery model as well as identify the necessary change management and readiness coordination in alignment with the payroll service delivery transformation efforts. This position will also be accountable to provide solutions to complex or critical issues involving standardization of work across regions, technology, and processes, including but not limited to identifying payroll related implications of transitioning and off-boarding legacy vendors, tax agencies, technology, etc., and onboarding system level, recommend actions to be taken, and lead consulting efforts to achieve outcomes.**Key Responsibilities**:- Manage the integration of standardized, centralized work into the payroll department.- Attend acquisition and transition calls and coordinate project tasks with applicable team members.- Diagnose issues and payroll design needs; make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.- Responsible for timelines and holding team members accountable for tasks related to integrations and other special projects.- Support acquisition activities by helping team members with escalations, issues, testing and any other task needed.- Work with team members to develop processes for new or unique needs of business.- Lead and support due diligence work related to acquisitions and wave integrations.- Coordinate future internal Payroll integration efforts across functions including but not limited to centralization of Payroll activities, process standardization, and general project coordination.- Analyze local trends and resource capacity required to complete work in the current and future state scenarios.- Lead change management related to implementation of payroll technology, including training and communication efforts.- Support Payroll Management in the development, planning, and implementation of payroll systems, policies, and procedures.- Lead (when appropriate) and participate on cross-functional integration teams with other functional areas such as IT, Finance, and HR.- Work closely with the Head of Payroll in the execution of programs and services, coordinating resources and developing tools to support the business, managers and employees.- Support continuous improvement and the integration of best practices, streamlining and standardizing the work of people, processes and technology.**Qualifications**:- Extensive years payroll M&A experience with advanced HR, Finance and/or IT experience, a must- Project Management Certification and Agile/Lean/Six Sigma - highly preferred- Internal Stakeholder & Vendor management, required- Knowledge working with Data Collection/Conversions/Integrations- Time & Attendance knowledge- Implementation/System upgrade coordination, testing and QA- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (excel, word, etc.)- Knowledge of country and localized payroll legislation- Additional Competencies:- Stellar verbal and written communication skills- Self-starter able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment- Strong organization skills- Team Player**Other Requirements**:- Proficient in English (speak & write)- Duties may require overtime hours to support payroll production- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential data**Education**:- EMEA - not applicable/requires CIPP (or in-country equivalent) & payroll certifications/qualifications- APAC - post secondary degree required/certifications not applicable- Americas - post secondary degree required/ in-country certification preferredAt Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 90,000 extraordinary minds have a unique story to tell.
