Product Development and Automation Engineer
Job Description
As a Long Term Retention (LTR) Hub Product Development and Automation Engineer, you will partner with different teams, learn initiatives to assure product quality and performance, and be able to develop the automation infrastructure that supports it, you will be able to work with Intel Security Research teams.
Duties associated with this include:
- Validation execution and automation
- Identify automation projects to reduce manual execution and migrate to automated environments that optimize resources.
- Design, implement, tests and deploy software artifacts required for automated tasks
- Designing and reviewing automation solutions for characterization and volume validation test plans
- Ownership of Automation for LTR Engineering Services
- Be the Project Manager for the different automation projects that are identified
- Work with other LTR Hub engineers to understand, execute and track characterization and volume validation test plans with a level of detail sufficient to evaluate readiness for public patch release
This engineer will step immediately into an exciting world with these and other challenges/expectation:
- A rapid and self-starting ramp
-Active involvement in:
- Validation of current mitigations through automation
- Technical discussions and planning for future validations
- Program management forums
* This may include travel, up to quarterly, to other sites

Additionally, this position requires strong engineering skills, ability to clearly communicate task breakdowns, track progress against plan, communicate roadblocks and negotiate mitigation. Strong team player and ability to work across teams in various geographical locations.
The selected candidate will work well in an ambiguous environment, prioritize work and will negotiate scope and technical risk to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- BSc in engineering (electronic, software, computer science, computing, related fields) or equivalent experience of 6 or more years
- Strong analytical, problem solving and debugging skills
- Costa Rica Work Permit
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- 4+ years of professional engineering experience in areas such as:
- Linux and Windows operating systems as an administrator
- Programming in at least one scripting language (i.e.: Bash, Powershell, Python)
- Software development practices and processes automation
Additional desired qualifications:
- Experience in Low level software and hardware and Computer architecture
- Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools and practices
- Experience in Agile software practices (Scrum)
- Knowledge in automation applied to validation of computing systems
- Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, computing engineering or related fields
- Demonstrable programming skills in high level programming languages such as C++
- The ideal candidate would have familiarity with Intel's Software and Hardware processes, with a strong interest in expanding their depth and breadth of security technologies
