As a member of Product Platform Validation within the Manufacturing Product Engineering , you will be responsible for PPV Product Development Engineering for Intel microprocessors. PPV is a system-level test used for measuring defect rates and screening defects from escaping to customers.
Your responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
- Developing PC system based test programs and test suites to meet product quality and factory capacity business goals
- Interacting with various work groups to define and drive platform readiness
- Developing test methodology definition for new device features and functionality
- Specifying custom motherboard and BIOS features (DFT) needed to enable PPV capabilities and support new CPU architectures
- Performing system level debug and characterization of PPV test programs for new CPUs with associated Motherboard, Chipset, BIOS, and test platform control software
- Performing analysis and taking action on issues which impact product quality and factory capacity (low yield analysis, retest rate reduction, test time reduction, DPM reduction)
- Partner with process development and procurement organizations (STTD/ITO) to develop cohesive PPV test software and hardware strategies and architectures that meet quality and business goals in the ATM factories for testing CPUs.
An ideal candidate would exhibit behavioral traits that indicate:
- Good troubleshooting skills and techniques necessary to resolve error sources between microprocessor, software, and PC hardware and for resolving similar issues.
- Good communication and time management skills as well as effectiveness working on cross organization teams
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
-Have knowledge on PC board or system level test development or similar based industry experience for BS
-Experience with a higher-level programming language such as Visual Basic, C/C++, Perl, or similar language either in industry or graduate environments
Preferred qualifications
-Experience with hardware skills such as PC platform, BIOS, IO technologies, JTAG, thermal control, power delivery in industry.
-Experience utilizing troubleshooting skills and techniques necessary to resolve error sources between microprocessor, software, and PC hardware in industry, internship or graduate student environments
-Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of DOS, Windows* and/or Linux* operating systems
-Experience with processor and PC system architectures
-Experience with system debug tools; ITP and/or logic analyzers
-Experience development Python Scripts.
