- Employs Tax Institute tax law interpretation on moderately complex federal and/or local tax issues to analyze and evaluate impacts to BGO
- Performs independent research, and analysis on moderately complex federal and local tax and form changes where Tax Institute interpretations are not available.
Interprets situation, draws conclusions, identifies fundamental points, researches and interprets, regulations, case law, and makes recommendations as to the best tax treatment for the situation and associated impacts to BGO and its related clients.
- Act as the key financial resource for operational organization (region/department/business unit (and legal entity, overseeing all transactions recorded on financial statements are appropriately recorded
- Partner with operational leaders and provide analysis, insight, and recommendations/proposals on optimization of financial performance
- Prepares documentation and requirements required to be submitted to BGO lawyers and government bodies.
- Evaluates and responds to moderately complex tax questions received by mail, telephone and other electronic sources to ascertain exact nature of the issue, researches applicable tax and regulations, makes recommendations as to the best tax treatment for the company.
- Participate in the annual budget and forecast process and audits
- Ad-hoc reporting and participation in departmental projects
- Proactively communicate with key business players on financial results
- Preparation of year end workpapers to support annual audits, and tax filings, as well as support local statutory reporting and filing requirements.
- Overseeing and reviewing legal entity trial balance to ensure all transactions appropriately reflected
- Facilitate the identification/development and delivery of best practices
- Champion company core values and other company programs
- Work closely with finance team to develop best practices
- Champion company core values and other company programs to engage and motivate our employees

Education
University Degree or College Diploma, preferably in Finance or Accounting
Experience
Minimum 1-2 year industry experience in financial analysis or reporting is required.
Experience dealing with tax and regulatory processes in local markers.
Strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts.
Previous experience in the collection industry would be an asset.
Experience with ERP systems (Workday is preferred).
Experience in the BPO, multicurrency consolidation and trust accounting would be an asset.
Certificates, Licenses, & Registration:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) completed or enrolled considered an asset
