**Full Job Description**TIDE Academy is a private school, with partnerships with NARHS in United States, that serves both local and international students. We are located in Tamarindo, allowing easy access to local cultural and volunteer opportunities for our students.TIDE is a small school in Tamarindo, Costa Rica that operates 4 days a week and consists of 80 students from K-12. Class are split grades and class sizes consist of 8-12 students in lower and middle years and 14 students in highs school. TIDE prides itself on personalizing academic, social and emotional goals. One of the ways we achieve this is through affective comminution with staff, students, and parents. Parent communication is a key factor in creating the learning atmosphere at TIDE.We are currently seeking a full-time educational leader with strong administrative, leadership and pedagogical background who can lead and support our staff.The Principal must be a role model/mentor/coach who can demonstrate effective instructional strategies and assessment skills through a part time teaching assignment. Experience with ELL students would be an asset as would previously experience as a secondary school administrator. The successful applicant must hold a current and valid Teaching Certificate of Qualification.One of the goals of our school is to provide students with a loving and caring learning environment that supports the development of key virtues such as happiness, compassion, integrity, resilience, and responsibility. If this position resonates with you, please forward your resume complete with cover letter by January 01, 2023The principal is responsible for the following:- Leadership and Management- Continued development in school strategies, policies and all curriculum requirements- Ensuring students are prepared for the next level of education- Planning and/or organization of professional development events and opportunities for the teachers.- Maintaining the teacher evaluation policy, including classroom observations, student policies, summary reports, and proactive actions towards teacher performance.- Facilitating teacher meetings and school assemblies.- Monitoring and maintaining office procedures- Monitoring and maintaining teacher performance in accordance with school policies, including adherence to student conduct expectations, assessment policies, instructional planning, and professional expectations- Conflict resolution between teachers, parents, and/or students- Monitoring school reporting procedures, including student performance reports and transcripts- Oversight of teacher-lead school clubs such as Friday After School Program and Spanish Academy- Oversight of AP courses, exams, course descriptions and course setup- Leadership in assignment of internal school awards and nominations for external scholarships- Assist in school marketing campaignsPolicy & Communications- School Policies and Handbooks - Supervise, implement, maintain and update as required- Maintain school strategies for community communications, including the school newsletter and communication of student conduct, performance, or attendance concerns- Act as the school liaison with our Partnership Schools: NARHS, Arizona State University, NCAA, etc- Ensure school compliance with Ministry inspection requirements- Ensure school safety, including conducting fire, earthquake and lockdown drills each term- Maintain school safety protocols and ensure staff training- School Culture & Community- Implement and lead ERASE strategies including communication to students, dissemination of harassment & bullying materials, in-class conflict resolution experiences.- Lead school events and assemblies, including term opening assemblies and term eventsFacility Operations- Supervise school business and operations on a daily basis- Monitor maintenance and operation of school technology, including network resources, computers, photocopiers, etc- Monitor overall facility conditions and respond to facility problems- Monitor and update administration forms, procedures, and files to ensure accurate and efficient operations- Strategic planning for facility and technology operations and development**Benefits**:This position has a starting range of $40,000 - $60,000A 4-month probationary period (Extended health benefits will be provided after the successful conclusion of the probationary period)A performance bonus i
