Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the sales tax function within the Emerson Global Financial Services, which includes US sales tax reporting, tax accruals and payments, and account reconciliations.
This role supports the Record to Report Manager managing a team of specialists.
**PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Preparation of monthly sales/use/property tax reports
- Assessment of sales and income tax accruals
- Support the work of tax specialists within the team to complete required objectives
- Tracking of accounting activities related to taxes area
- Oversee and approve tax reconciliations within the function and ensure accuracy
- Coordinate monthly/quarterly/annually tax returns for business units
- Monitor the related open items and prepare the required action plans to close them.
- Help to prepare reports generated out of function
- Review escalated issues and resolve in a timely manner
- Develop, suggest, and implement new procedures to ensure efficiency and effective operation of processing of case resolution
- Drive performance initiatives to increase accuracy and efficiency within the function
- Coordinate team meetings
- Process ad-hoc requests from the business
- Communicate monthly results to internal stakeholders
- Identify areas of improvement
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiativesIdentify areas of improvement

**EDUCATION/LANGUAGE**
- BSBA degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business Administration
- Specialization in taxes is preferred
- Excellent communication both verbal and written in English (B2)

**EXPERIENCE/SKILLS**
- Three to five years experience in accounting; experience managing a small staff of accountants
- Previous US tax environment exposure
- Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.
- Experience with Oracle, SAP, HFM, preferred
