About the role
This role operates within the company's Global Business Services organization to provide high quality accountancy expertise and services to various client businesses within Boston Scientific Corporation. This role performs a variety of medium to complex duties in general accounting such as analyzing accounts, booking necessary journal entries, preparing reports, managing software interfaces and performing the monthly financial close and consolidation. This role measures performance against key performance indicators and metrics, and continually identifies ways to improve and streamline processes.
Your responsibilities include:
:May execute the following resposibilities:
:Oversees the month:end close process and acts as liaison with supported sites
:Supports the accountants on the team, including mentoring and approving journal entries and reconciliations.
:Compiles and analyzes financial information through preparation of reports and general ledger journal entries.
:Supports the India outsourced team on intercompany and banking processes, including approving journal entries and reconciliations.
:Assures financial accuracy for all supported sites and supports all legal entity closings on a monthly basis.
:Takes an active interest in seeking opportunities for continuous improvement, standardizing processes across multiple legal entities.
:Collaborates with several groups within BSC, including local sites to ensure all perspectives are taken into consideration when implementing changes and improvements.
:Establishes and communicates accounting processes by maintaining a thorough understanding of SOX controls, GAAP, and new accounting guidance as appropriate.
:Works to deliver upon key performance metrics and service levels agreed with business partners.
What we are looking for:
:Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
:5:7 years' relevant experience.
:Inventory/cost accounting and reporting experience helpful.
:Open to working across global time zones.
:Strong communication skills.
:Ability to act as team lead of accountants.
:Detail oriented.
:Ability to work independently.
:Must have highly developed customer relationship skills with strong service orientation.
:Experience working in shared service environment preferred.
