Sr. Electrical Engineer

Our client, from the automotive design industry is looking for different leves of: Electrical Engineers.
This position is in general responsible for the design and integration of commercial vehicle components.
The Employee will maintain the Bill of Materials within the cab, chassis and/or powertrain related modules such that they contain available, functional, installable parts that when assembled to a vehicle, provide a vehicle that meets the customer's requirements and is safe to operate.
General responsibilities: Medium and Heavy duty truck chassis harness design using 3D CAD - and 2D Schematic software.
Vehicle Electrical Systems Design, including 3D Wiring design in Siemens NX, creating 2D Harness Drawings and Schematics.
Electrical Component Integration Evaluate scope of work and manage project timelines Prepare bills of materials and their representative 3D assemblies (Unigraphics NX) Product data management (entering designs and related info into PDM software - Team Center) Ensure designs meet supplier and regulatory requirements Design with cost saving, ease of installation and servicing in mind Conduct concept and design reviews Liaise with suppliers on designs Asses results for comparison against customer requirements and design standards Liaise with other engineering disciplines and teams.
Role specific responsibilities (Senior Engineer) Develop and Maintain vehicle architecture design Develop system level specifications Good understanding of vehicle communications and signalling e.g.
J1939-Canbus, Multiplexing Mentoring of younger engineers Monitor and review engineering designs Support in project management and priorities

**Requirements**: Bachelor's Engineering Degree or Bachelor's Tech Degree in Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering, NQF 7 Experience working in an electrical design engineering position (7+years Sr.) Automotive OEM Design Experience will be an advantage 3D CAD experience Schematics Design in Mentor Graphics Vesys will be an advantage Key Skills: Attention to detail Integrity and honesty Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Good Written and Verbal Communication (English) Good work ethics Hardworking, willing to go the extra mile Professionalism Work independently Excellent in task management Team Player (Work well in a team) Ability to work under pressure and handle priority changes Have good problem solving abilities
