JOB TITLE: SVT/PV Engineer 3
DUTIES: Develop feature/functional and system level test plans/cases including test automation for Carrier Ethernet switches. Execute test cases and report test results with artifacts using Test Management System. Automate test cases and execute automated tests using Python, Tcl/Tk.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related, and 5 years of experience in testing network products, 5 years experience in writing Functional and System test plans; 5 years experience in planning and scoping test execution; 5 years experience executing manual and automated functional test cases; 5 years experience developing test automation strategy; 5 years experience with executing performance, and load and stress cases; 4 years experience implementing Test Automation Framework in Python, Tcl/Expect programing language; 4 years experience automating new test cases in Python, Tcl/Expect programming language; 4 years experience with fixing issues in existing automation in Python, Tcl/Expect programming language; 4 years experience with enhancing automated regression test suites; 4 years experience with validating performance improvements; 4 years experience with broadband fixed access networks; 4 years experience in deployment of telecom networks; 4 years experience in testing end-to-end networking protocols; 4 years experience with each of the following Protocols: BGP, ISIS, RIP, OSPF, IPv4, IPv6.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related and 5 years of experience, Ciena Corporation will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related, and 3 years of experience in testing network products, 3 years experience in writing Functional and System test plans; 3 years experience in planning and scoping test execution; 3 years experience executing manual and automated functional test cases; 3 years experience developing test automation strategy; 3 years experience with executing performance, and load and stress cases; 3 years experience implementing Test Automation Framework in Python, Tcl/Expect programing language; 3 years experience automating new test cases in Python, Tcl/Expect programming language; 3 years experience with enhancing automated regression test suites; 3 years experience with fixing issues in existing automation in Python, Tcl/Expect programming language; 3 years experience with validating performance improvements; 3 years experience with broadband fixed access networks; 3 years experience in deployment of telecom networks; 3 years experience in testing end-to-end networking protocols; 3 years experience with each of the following Protocols: BGP, ISIS, RIP, OSPF, IPv4, IPv6.
