Technical Writer 3-ProdDev-20000442 Preferred Qualifications In this position, the technical writer will work with support engineers
and managers to assist in creating content appropriate for display
through a chatbot and in our Knowledge Management system. Written
content would be technical in nature aimed at assisting customers in
diagnosing and resolving their issues. Content would also sometimes be
published on public technical forums. Our support engineers provide
remote customer support of Oracle Linux and Oracle VM products in the
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as well as on-premise in and in our
engineered systems. The team’s primary responsibility is to diagnose,
debug and resolve customer reported issues on Oracle Linux and Oracle VM
for x86 family of products, working in partnership with Cloud
Operations team, customers, other support teams and developers.
This
role requires quick learning skills towards product functionality,
product workflow and being able to test software capabilities. Required
and desired skills include: Graduate degree with 6+ years of relevant
industry work experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good customer interaction skills
Good technical writing skills with the ability to present technical content in a lucid manner easy for customers to understand
Customer focused documentation experience with a pro-active and responsive approach
Knowledge
of Oracle Linux, RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu and/or other Oracle Linux
platforms Experience in developing documentation both technical and
non-technical (like user guides, training guides) for large Enterprise
products
Experience writing content for chatbots
Experience with one or more functional areas of Linux, Virtualization or Cloud Infrastructures
Experience
with agile software development process. Comfortable working with
multiple teams in product development to be able get the right
information to understand how a feature /functionality works in order to
be able create the right documentation in the form of user guides,
training guides, configuration guides, FAQs etc.

Demonstrated skills in designing clear document layouts and presentation
Demonstrated skills and experience in working with virtual and geographically dispersed teams to develop software
