The Third Party Risk - Manager will work directly with the SVP of Third party risk to operationalize an approach to tier, monitor, assess and drive mitigating actions related to third party risk.
Working with the business areas to understand their requirements and implement an approach to identify critical suppliers and use internal and external resources to understand the risks related to third parties and coordinate with the business areas to understand and manage these risks.
This role will be required to build out an approach and network of partners across the business areas to ensure risks are being monitored and managed appropriately.
Functional Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining the enterprise third party risk governance and framework.
Making changes overtime to align to changes in the internal and external environment.
- Support the teams efforts to monitor the risk key suppliers have to the organization through external and internal data sources.
- Accountable for the identification of suppliers.
Work with business units and compliance to ensure supplier identification is accurate and process around monitoring and communicating risks to the business is in line with requirements.
- Work cross functionally with legal, compliance, Cyber and other functions to aggregate and centralize supplier insights in order to develop a comprehensive risk dashboard for top tier vendors.
- Report on gaps and risk concerns working closely with supplier relationship managers to hold suppliers responsible for remediation or quantify and accept risks where appropriate.
- Manage a supplier warning list, working closely with the business areas and sourcing to restrict or reduce the use of suppliers based on the risk they add to the organization.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in pre-law, finance, accounting, economics, or risk
- Graduate degree and/or relevant professional risk management qualification a plus
- 5+ years of business experience with at least 2 years in supplier management or compliance
- Strong technical skills related to risk management or supplier management for a globally regulated organization,
- Has operated in a highly regulated environment where they have needed to maintain processes to meet regulatory obligations
- Thinks critically and is able to identify problems and develop innovative solutions
- Able to work both self-directed and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
