Fluent verbal and written English language skills- MS Office experience and ability to use MS Excel for reporting purposesJob summaryAs a member of Amazon's Screening Services Operations team, the Background Checks Associate will support the business through the reviewing of Background Check results and making decisions about the eligibility for hire based on a risk analysis and based on a number of factors related to each situation.The ideal person will be organized, exhibit excellent business judgment, and be able to take a set of facts and make determinations about their potential risk to Amazon. This person will be able to work effectively with internal and external contacts, have the ability to process large volumes of cases and understand the regulatory landscape related to background checks.Key job responsibilities- Assists new hires with onboarding and ongoing support.- Assist with new compliance projects as needs arise.- Communicate to partners and employees on data findings and information.- Utilize data dashboards to identify specific records requiring an investigation.- Navigate various vendor and internal systems to determine if a record or process defect exists.- Verify data and perform data entry. Look for variances and discrepancies in data for correction.- Pivot support to high-priority tasks, such as records collecting in the event of an internal/external audit, as necessary- Respond to questions and troubleshoot compliance issues related to specific employee situations- Escalate issues and/or ideas for process improvement to Leadership and Management- Ensure that quality and timeliness of deliverables meet customer, leadership and business expectations- Understand impacts of changes in vendor and internal systems and how changes will impact internal/external interfaces and data manipulation.- Execute on assigned project components & drive low-medium impact projects- Manage confidential and sensitive employee information and adhere to strict confidentiality standards.- Prior work experience with HR, Recruiting Systems or human capital management software.- Bachelor's degree or advanced college education in a related field (Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Engineering or alike)- Technical skills to manipulate and analyze data and present recommendations in a variety of formats.- Comfortable working with large amounts of data, developing metrics and reporting tools.- Proficient in data analysis tools and report development (e.g. Excel, Access, Tableau).- Exceptional attention to detail skills.- Problem solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when necessary - sense of accountability and sound personal judgment.- Ability to appropriately prioritize work and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
