You'll find the resources here to achieve your career goals and help take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world's toughest challenges.**How will you make an impact?**The Environmental Sustainability Specialist will be part of the Global Sustainability team focused on our global effort to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer by improving practices in our operations, products, and supply chain. This role will report to the Sustainability Program Director and will manage the processes and systems used to monitor and report on our environmental sustainability progress specific to areas of climate, waste and water.**What will you do?**- Become a change agent supporting our environmental sustainability commitments- Support the Global Sustainability team in the development and implementation of net-zero, waste and water initiatives- Serve as lead administrator for our enterprise data collection software- Manage the day-to-day operation of our quarterly enterprise environment sustainability data collection and reporting process- Provide training and support for new and existing data collectors- Manage and resolve systemic data collection issues, conduct quality control, and support external data assurance process- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline, accelerate and improve accuracy with collection and reporting processes- Track, monitor, and maintain dashboards for reporting against net-zero, water, and waste commitments and productivity- Maintain the enterprise data collection and reporting procedure and basis of preparation documentation- Collaborate with EHS and facility colleagues to share progress, develop dashboards, and advance issues as needed- Develop toolkits and guidance to support alignment of site green teams efforts with Company commitments- Support development of our internal communication SharePoint site to enhance information sharing with internal colleagues**Technical Responsibilities**- Tracks and monitors timely completion of project within the portfolio, plan vs. actual and report that progress as required- Contributes updates to overall project plans, tracking key achievements, and timelines- Detects, calls out and facilitates issue resolution and/or appropriate partner concern and address program risk- Finds opportunities to drive continuous improvement**How will you get here?**- Bachelors degree required. Engineering, Business, Analytics, or Environmental Sciences preferred- 2+ years or relevant work experience. Experience with data analytics and sustainability data collection software, specifically Sphera and Power BI preferred- Background in life sciences, biotech, pharma, manufacturing industry, and/or sustainability consulting preferred- Proven passion for and knowledge of corporate environmental sustainability- Well-developed analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills- Excellent communication skills with an ability to tailor data-heavy messages to specific audiences- Proven experience in a role requiring high-attention to detail, data analysis, and organization skills in a fast-paced environment- Demonstrated ability to deliver assigned projects, with outstanding capability to follow-up and follow-through- Ability to work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams in a matrixed organization- Multi-tasking skills and planning for prioritizing personal workload- Excels in a constantly evolving environment with ability to handle change effectively and frequently- Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint**Benefits**At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 125,000 extraordinary minds have a unique story to tell.
