**_MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE_**- Summarize the main purpose of the role._This position is responsible for managing all Import/Export shipment for the Costa Rica Abbott Vascular factory. The position requires detailed and current knowledge of import/export logistics, international freight forwarding, use of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Schedule B commodity codes, Costa Rica Free Trade Zone Law and Regulation, Dangerous Goods Regulations, Works with internal customers in managing the inbound and outbound shipment process while maintaining strict International and National compliance. Ensures all related documentation and record keeping is continuously compliant with U.S. and CR Import & Export regulations. Responsible on damaged shipments claims. Support on finance and audit processes and any other duty required by the bussines on logistics or any other area.**_ MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES_**- List the main responsibilities this role regularly performs_- Does the job have direct reports?_ _No_- Does the job have indirect reports?_ May Have_Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures maintaining overall compliance posture in this area. Evaluate all new customs requierements and makes sure everyday operations processes are according standard procedures,FTZ, local and international compliance.Makes sure broker confirms all Inbound/outbound transactions thru customs under a weekly basis.Perform all record keeping processes and maintain records of all entry.Close all entries (DUAS) thru customs system and assure outbound confirmations transactions under a daily basis.Perform Customs formalities including classification of commodities according to Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), enter the information in the authorized customs system, transmit information to Customs, and coordinate with Customs inspections and internal/external audits.Maintains up to date, CR Customs, CR Ministry of Health (Precursors, Haz Mat registration forms), FDA and other regulatory data and assist to obtain all required import permits and export licenses for all processes.Coordinate with the forwarder, trucking company and carrier in/outbound shipments until its on time delivery.Provide an efficient interface with freight forwarders and administer all freight logistics and provide optimal level of customer services and resolve all shipment issues.Evaluate all items for import/export and ensure accuracy in all values and collaborate with customer brokers to provide clearance of all imports/exports and maintain required documents.Maintain up to date the inbound/Outboud report which includes all data related to customs and shipments traceability.Support on Purchase requisitions related to transport, craating and any other bussines requierement.Participate, propose and develop continuous improvement models for freight cost savings, and/or any other project required.Responsible for create, post and follow up on Inbound/Outbound claims about damaged shipments.Support on finances duties as: Billing classification based on Cost Center, makes sure to have open purchase order before to use a logistics service, support on financial deviations, support on financial/customs audits and any other duty required by the bussines on logistics or any other area related.**_QUALIFICATIONS_****_ Education_**- Education Level_- Major/Field of Study_- Or_- Education Level_Bachelor degree- Industrial Engineering, Customs Administration, Trade Commerce or related.**_ Experience/Background_**- Experience_- Experience Details_3+ years- 3+ years previous Logistics experience or equivalent.- Knowledge on Free Trade Zone, Customs compliance, Clasification, and International trade compliance.- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP and Outlook, TICA, DELZOF or any other customs system.- Language Proficiency_- Intermediate commands of English / Required_- Preferred Qualifications & Education_- Customs Administration or Trade Commerce.- FDA related experience helpful, but not required. Mat regulations knowledge is a plus.
