**_What Manufacturing Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health_**Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for developing manufacturing processes, production floor layouts and associated tools. Reviews new designs for manufacturability. Designs process improvements to reduce product cost, process cycle time and improved product quality. The Senior Engineer, Manufacturing oversees and project manages large engineering projects. This job serves as the technical lead for both internal and external engineering teams. The senior engineer is responsible for the management of projects from start to end from both a resource management and outcome perspective. This job leads teams as necessary but is not be a people manager.This position supports the manufacturing operation under the direction of the Manager. The Focus Factory Manufacturing Engineer is primarily responsible for leading/supporting multiple projects, process equipment maintenance and acting as the technical resource to the area Manufacturing (Factory) Manager. Interface with marketing to provide product and process capability information, and with production personnel to actively troubleshoot production problems as well as continually improve the process.**_Responsibilities_**- Manages the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in engineering projects.- Designs mechanical changes to manufacturing machines.- Directs, reviews, or approves project design changes.- Documents design changes.- Evaluates mechanical processes and identifies areas for improvement.- Implementing design changes in the applicable facilities/production lines.- Act as functional owner of all released assembly equipment and software; this includes documentation, calibration, preventative maintenance, stoppages and utilization ensuring compatibility between process capability and finished product specifications.- Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance Programs.- Identify and understand safety concerns and ensure they are not introduced to the production floor.- Ability to work flexible hours as project needs dictate.- Trouble shooting of manufacturing processes.- Six Sigma Projects, Process Maps, Cause & Effects Matrix (C&E), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Analysis using Minitab, Kaizen Events, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, IQ, OQ, PQ, and Test Method validation protocols and reports.- General understanding of ISO and FDA requirements and sample plans.- Address customer complaints and determine root cause and potential solutions to determine potential solutions based on risk, cost, and time.- Technical resource to supervisors, operators, and technicians in regards to machines, process, test equipment, and general manufacturing techniques.- Write Capital Expenditure Request (CERs) to obtain capital for various types of projects.- Writes and/or updates all documentation used on the production floor in the manufacturing of product, including process SPIs, general SPIs, and lab SPIs.**_ Qualifications_**- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Eng. Materials Eng, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.- 2+ years manufacturing experience, preferably in medical device manufacturing or in a highly regulated industry.- English: Advance B2**_What is expected of you and others at this level_**- Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity- Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes action to resolve- Applies judgment within defined parameters- Receives general guidance and may receive more detailed instruction on new projects- Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy- Cardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
