Job DescriptionRole SummaryExperian Global Finance Services (GFS) is currently going through an exciting time of transition, process improvement and automation to drive productivity and best practice finance. Global Finance Services is based in 5 main locations: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Sofia, Bulgaria; San Jose, Costa Rica; Santiago, Chile, Sao Carlos, Brazil with satellite offices in Nottingham, UK and Costa Mesa, US. We are looking to consolidate activities in fewer centres and so are looking to expand our San Jose centre by relocating roles from one of our other centres.With the implementation of IFRS15, it has become necessary to focus on activities that require specific and expert knowledge, not only to recognize revenue properly but also to collaborate with Sales and Operations teams effectively. The role is an incredible opportunity to develop into a true business partner. It includes significant exposure with Senior Management, Group Finance, External Audit and the Business Units.The role also includes the opportunity to be part of the forefront of process automation, release of new products and use, of leading edge new tools to manage Experian's businesses.The successful candidates will report to the Head of Finance in San Jose, Costa RicaKey responsibilities:Leads the Revenue Recognition process in line with IFRS 15 requirements and recommendationsEnsures full compliance of Experian's Revenue Recognition policy.Applies IFRS 15 when necessaryOversees a small team of direct reportsTimely reports of Revenue Recognition reconciliations to all stakeholdersCompletes the month-end checklist in detail.Seeks constant process improvementsProvides relevant metrics such us but not limited to:DisclosuresProject ProfitabilityBilling scheduleDeferred RevenueAccrued SalesAdvices the business when signing new contracts.Documents in detail all processes.Maintains an updated Business Continuity PlanConstantly preaches best practices to all parties involved.Maintains regular meetings with key stakeholders.Maintains current process documentationAvoids challenges by enforcing Revenue Recognition policy.Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.QualificationsThe successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills:Advanced English level.Advanced knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15 and IFRS 9.Previous experience in Project management and in multi-currency environments.Ability to lead change across the organisation and within the GFS, both on systems and processes.Experience of working in fast paced, results driven role within complex organisation.Ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands, demonstrating accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills.Experience of working in a multinational / global organisation.Senior stakeholder exposure.Experienced in handling sensitive issues / situations and cultural differences.Strong facilitation and presentation skills.Desirable Skills/ ExperienceFinance background or qualification.Exposure to Finance Shared Services, ideally internationally.Experience in managing transformation processes in a Finance shared service environment.Certified Public Accountant or equivalent.Minimum 2 years experience in similar roles.Six Sigma training.Additional InformationThis is a permanent home-based role in Costa Rica.
