At the core, a successful Software Developer will excel at the following:Design, develop and maintain resilient applicationsImplements Cybersecurity and Corporate IS development processesCollaborates with development team and business stakeholdersMajor Duties and Responsibilities:Design, develop and maintain resilient applications in accordance with Expeditors enterprise architectural guidelines.Utilizes industry and organizational software development patterns and standards (SDLC)Identify risks and upholds Cybersecurity and Corporate IS development processesDemonstrates, develops, and shares role-related knowledge, skills and standardsDeploys highly optimized code verified through performance monitoringConducts code reviews and performs unit testing to deliver quality solutions on timeTranslates business requirements into technical tasksDevelops and updates technical documentationMaintains proper version control and solution backupIdentifies opportunities to reduce maintenance and technical debtCollaborates to create and promote best practices within the team and departmentTrains end-users and stakeholders to effectively utilize solutionsSupport agile work processes and keep work management systems current (i.e. Azure DevOps)QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:2+ years of related experience in object-oriented programming and component-based development within an Expeditors development team environmentBachelor's degree in an IT-related field or three years of related professional experienceObject-oriented programming and component-based development with JavaExperience with Python, Angular, Kafka, Spring, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, XML, JMS, relational and document-oriented databasesProficient with Agile software development methodologiesProficient with code versioning and CI/CD (i.e. Git, GitLab)Experience with Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEs, various plug-ins, Maven, NexusWork effectively with a cross-functional development teamSelf-starter with customer service-oriented attitude, and excellent time managementDesired Qualifications:Knowledge and understanding of Expeditors Product / Services and freight forwarding industryExperience with UI/UX conceptsOracle Java certificationSAFe or Agile certification
