Sr. Purchasing & Logistics Manager

**_MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE_**Responsible for overseeing activities related to Purchasing and Logistics functions, ensuring product availability and cost efficiency management in the short, mid and long term.Purchasing functions includes Direc and Indirect materials, services and contracts and supplier management. Logistics includes materials flow through Inbound/Outbound Freight, Sterilization operations and Warehouse Management.Provides clear strategy, structure and sytems designed and/or improved to ensure connection between internal and external stakeholders. Provides direction and actively supports subordinates and maximizes results through an efficient use of budgeted resources.**_MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES_**- Provides leadership and direction in materials procurement from product concept to design and product cost standard, development and design for AVCR Operation, through interaction with division and site management teams.- Identifies opportunities for cost improvement and develop strategies to optimize the procurement and logistics costs of raw materials, supplies, spare parts, and MRO items.- Coordinates purchasing benchmarks and develop complementary purchasing strategic plans to enhance Abbott's purchasing practices, including resource requirements.- Oversees inbound and outbound activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments. Also, reduce shipping expense through cost reduction initiatives.- Ensures Logistics functions are in compliance with local laws and Abbott's compliance policies.- Develops strategies to optimize warehouse operations and enhance efficiency.**_QUALIFICATIONS_**- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Materials, Industrial Engineering, Science, or other related fields.- _Experience minimum _10 years- Combined Purchasing, Planning, Inventory Control, Finance, Operations, or Project Management experience.- Minimum 7 years Supervisory experience.- _Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish) / Required_**_Preferred Qualifications & Education_**- Master degree- APICS certification - higly desirable- Business Accounting - desirable
