**Company Information**:**About Thermo Fisher Scientific**:**Job Summary**This position plays an integral part in developing and implementing sourcing strategies. Will be responsible for executing spot buys, sourcing events, and projects related activities for the multiple categories.**Key Responsibilities**- Lead strategic and tactical sourcing activities with spend up to $10M- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms for assigned spend categories- Research potential vendors, develop and execute RFP for spend between $100-$10 M- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation is translated to RFP and contracts as appropriate- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking to inform sourcing decisions- Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing delivering and record annual P&L savings- Support projects assigned for various sourcing activities- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness**Competencies****Functional & technical skills**- Sourcing expert - strong experience with sourcing process, supplier management, contract negotiations and procure to pay operations- Experience with ERP systems, spend analytics, eSourcing, and contract management systems required- Excellent category-specific sourcing and category management skills in key portfolios of spend in Direct (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Packaging or Chemicals)- Expert understanding of multi-step strategic sourcing processes and strategies- Experience negotiating agreements/contracts with suppliers- Understanding of procurement processes, tools, and best practices**Leadership & Behavioral**- Agility and flexibility to develop expertise across sourcing categories in areas complementary to the existing team- Desire to grow and develop as a sourcing specialist and develop category expertise across Direct categories (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, electromechanical)- Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment - a self-starter who looks for ways to improve existing processes- Strong customer service orientation, keen to deliver on internal customer needs- Independent worker with the ability to track and manage own deadlines- Ability to gather, interpret and analyze data to inform sourcing decisions- Desire to mentor and coach junior team member**Experience & Qualification**- Proven working experience as purchasing manager, agent, or officer- 2+ years of purchasing experience/negotiations- Degree in business administration, engineering, supply chain management, or related field.English proficiency
