We are looking for a talented Data Analyst in our fast-paced, data-driven organization. This position is responsible for producing and maintaining multiple types of self-service Business Intelligence dashboards, ad-hoc and KPI reporting. Our work helps leadership answer a wide range of business questions which drive operational improvements and support critical decision-making.
To be successful in this role, we need someone who has these skills:
- SQL: first and foremost you’ll need a solid understanding of relational databases, and ability to quickly familiarize yourself with our data, schemas and environments to craft complex + performant SQL queries. These will power both ad-hoc requests and Tableau visualizations
- Tableau Desktop / Tableau Creator: Skilled in creating dashboards and stories in an enterprise environment, and also maintaining or troubleshooting existing Tableau resources and their custom SQL or published extracts
- Python or shell scripting for automation and recurring data preparation tasks
- Advanced Python coding talent including familiarity with common and emerging data science and scientific computing toolsets/libraries (such as matplotlib, pandas, scipy, numpy, et al), or R/RStudio prowess, will be highly-regarded
- Savvy with a collaborative development environment like Cloudera Data Science Workbench, Jupyter, Zeppelin, or RStudio
- Github: for checking in and documenting all work items for posterity, code review and accountability
- Excel or Google Sheets skills with scripting
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the knack for translating customer business needs and user stories into solid requirements
What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
- Using Tableau Desktop to create, publish and maintain critical self-service business intelligence and dashboards and visualizations for internal customers
- Writing and maintaining custom SQL to power Tableau dashboards or ad-hoc data requests
- Maintaining familiarity with key structured data sources in our enterprise data hub
- Creating and curating intermediate dataset in our data warehouse as needed to support recurring or ad-hoc data requests
- Working with users to continually refine their usage and understanding of reporting outputs as well as their overarching user stories
- Thinking Critically: You’ll be developing actionable insights that will power key business strategies. You’re not just building dashboards to spec, but thinking about how to best answer questions posed. New approaches and insights always welcome!
- Creativity in your work presentation: Tableau can be used in fascinating ways to make even the most dense data more consumible and impactful
- Documenting and communicating clearly about your work outputs (verbal and written)
- Keen attention to detail and willingness to peer-review one another’s outputs for accuracy
- Asking bigger questions: we always need the next big question asked then answered with data
Qualifications
- 2-4 years’ relevant experience or education in a Reporting, Business Intelligence or Analytics role
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com CRM data schemas
- ‘Tableau Desktop Certified Professional’ or ‘Tableau Desktop Certified Associate’ certifications are a plus
