Role ProfileData Analytics is part of the Index Data Management group of Benchmark & Indices Operations. The Data Analytics team is a client focused, technology enabled team, producing high value & unique analytics & data derivations to drive insight and value to our internal and external stakeholders. Data Analytics is responsible for creating LSEG Intellectual Property by generating derived fundamental data content (e.g. Price to Earnings Ratio) and similar content based on data standardization from raw data.Department Description - Index Data ManagementTeam Description - Data Analytics - EquitiesCreation and Maintenance of High Quality Fundamental Factors- Create & document methodologies behind analytics in conjunction with research and external clients- Specify requirements and collaborate closely with technology on implementation of analytics- Test output of data derivations ensuring accuracy of calculations- Wrangle data from internal & external sources into standardized data models- Create and monitor quality control checks on raw & derived data- Ensuring high quality and complete derived data content is created and provided for use in index builds and other products by way of detailed historical data reviews and cleansing- Respond to client questions in an efficient and timely manner, providing root cause and action plans where necessary to prevent future reoccurrence of issues- Assisting in the production of regular reports and new product development in data and technology segments to support index & analyticsCommunication- Produce data visualizations and data quality reports to management and stakeholders- Clear documentation of technical requirements around analytics to ensure smooth implementation in partnership with technology- Deliver clear and accurate analysis to facilitate stakeholder discussions- Build trust with stakeholders by consistently understanding and fulfilling stakeholder requests in an accurate, timely and professional mannerKey Behaviors- Continuously adopt a pragmatic, flexible and responsive approach- Create robust and repeatable processes to continuously deliver high quality output- Suggest change and innovation to enhance current methods of working- Working with teams in multiple locations simultaneously, in an iterative and collaborative manner- Maintain constructive and supportive working relationships with stakeholders across the group- Demonstrate and practice adherence to LSEG internal controls and standards in data management, and document management and production (e.g. keeping appropriate records, following LSEG processes and using mandated tools, etc.)Key Skills- A good understanding of accounting principles; knowledge of fundamental, forecast and pricing data; and identifiers is key to the role- Attention to detail and good time management skills are key to the role- Experience with market data, including procedures of corporate action treatments, currency changes & common market identifiers is a plus- An understanding of data management theories including the managing and monitoring of data from common third party vendors (e.g. Refinitiv) is a plus- Strong computer literacy, including intermediate knowledge of the MS Office suite of products, database querying language (SQL) and a willingness and skill to learn new tools quickly- Advanced English reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to work within a team- Educated to degree level or equivalentAt LSEG, we believe that creating a diverse and inclusive organisation is fundamental to the way we deliver on our promise of creating essential partnerships and open opportunities.
