Job applicants must be located and legally authorized to work in Costa Rica in order to be eligible for consideration.The Global Trade, Sr Associate ensures that Amazon transactions satisfy legal and safety requirements. The Global Trade department coordinate the aspects of product transactions that are regulated (distribution, shipping, sale, and import/export). This involves analyzing product import documentation and flagging hazardous risks.The Sr Associate, will use your knowledge of SOPs to classify products from the Amazon Catalog by assigning HTS and/or ECN codes with mínimal guidance. Additionally, will be trained in more than one process for your team ensuring product information in conjunction with legislative documentation from the supported regions and will be able to consistently complete team-goal productivity and delivery targets, may identify improvements for operational outcomes, such as process or tool gaps, perform team quality cross-checks and share best practices that increase team quality output. If deviation from standard SOPs is warranted seek support from your manager and your team's Process Experts.Roles and Responsibilities:- Global Trade Sr. Associate will be responsible for operational tasks to ensure import/export compliance with regulations in different countries in which Amazon operates. Specific duties may include:- Customs Broker requests management for Import Clearance.- Product review to ensure compliance with import laws, Trademark regulations and other import requirements.- Interacting with internal customers to ensure timely resolution for imports.- Determination of Product specifications required for lab testing to determine import viability.- Other support activities to ensure compliance with local and US regulations for import/export processes.- Determination of HTS Classification (for BR MX mainly but may classify for any other countries) and other country specifics, including BR and MX product type classification for risk assessment and BR CEST and EX-Tipi codes.- Identification & implementation of improvement opportunities/automation to enhance process efficiency, quality and customer experience with measurable impact.- Responsible for quality, root cause analysis on process & quality gaps and recommend corrective actions.- Training and mentoring new hires and other associates, suggests improvements to training.- Creation and maintenance of SOPs and Work Instructions.- Understanding of metrics, deep dive on KPIs, troubleshooting on reports and multiple data sources.- Flagging any updates received from stakeholders on process to Process Expert/Manager.- Hiring process: This position requires a university bachelor's degree in process or concluded in Customs Administration and Foreign Trade Management. Job-applicants will be required to take an assessment on Manual Classification; Harmonized Tariff Schedule and other general Trade/Customs knowledge.- Location: This is not a virtual position. Due to the current situation caused by COVID-19, if selected for this role, all necessary equipment will be sent for you to work from home. However, once our company provides clearance, you will be required to continue working from our SJO16 building E-22, located in the America Free Zone (AFZ), Cariari, Heredia.- Schedule: this position requires schedule flexibility which includes but not limited to holidays. Our shifts available vary from 6:00am-3:00pm; 7:00am-4:00pm; 8:00am-5:00; 9:00am-6:00pm- Night and "graveyard" shifts are not available at this time.- Training is fully paid.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
