Role Description · This role will be responsible for the installation, configuration upgrading, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and security of databases.· This role will be responsible to apply the security patches for Oracle and MS-SQL Databases· This role will be responsible to work closely with business aligned teams to perform day-to-day database operational tasks including managing incidents, plan and execute changes, manage user requests.· This role will be responsible to identify automation opportunities and take ownership to drive the automation solutions.· This role will work closely with user community and work towards adoption of cloud-based technologies. Job Responsibilities · Ensure the security, integrity, and performance of Production, Non-Prod, & DR (standby) Oracle databases· Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet business requirements· Manage database back up, restore, recovery, update statistics, database maintenance plan· Query optimization and performance tuning· Respond and troubleshoot database related problems reported by customers· Automate the routine tasks·Database software installation, database server builds, applying patches, upgrading, configuring, troubleshooting· Unix scripting· Provide Rotational On-Call support· Preparing knowledge articles and sharing with the team· Strong communication and management skills and expertise in Onsite/Offshore team coordination Job Qualification · 4 years' experience administering Oracle database versions 12c, 18c, & 19c on Solaris and Linux systems.· Routine Administrative Activities: Database statistics and tuning monitoring, monitor and report alert events, database installation and configuration, patching· · Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of database environments· Must have basic experience writing and optimizing SQL and PL/SQL· Must have basic experience writing Linux shell scripts for maintenance and automation purposes· Experience in database backup solutions (Oracle RMAN and Data Pump)· Experience in database security patches· Familiar with Oracle high availability solutions (RAC, Data Guard, MAA)· Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g. OCI, Azure Database)· Oracle OCP or OCM certification(s) is a plus· Availability for on-call rotation.· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple and concurrent tasks.· Excellent communication and documentation skills
