**Basic Function**Provides Tier 3 support of the Emerson Electric Global Data Center for Global Communications and Information Security. Supports and monitors the WAN or other supporting systems. Works under the general direction of Network Operations management both independently and with other members of the Network Operations team to respond to Service Requests, Problems, Incidents and Change Requests.**KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**- Detailed understanding of the function and configuration of Cisco networking equipment- Understanding of the function of software defined networks- Extensive hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco switches and routers- Extensive experience administering and configuring layer 2 and layer 3 Cisco networks, experience or operational knowledge of Cisco firewalls and load-balancers preferred, F5 load balancers, and Palo Alto firewalls- Advanced operational knowledge of VLANs, spanning tree, BGP & EIGRP in highly redundant and diverse WAN/LAN environments- Extensive experience with network monitoring tools. Ability to analyze data and deliver metrics associated with utilization, capacity and functional operation of the network- Ability to comprehend and create complex network maps and drawings with Visio- Functional understanding of DNS, DHCP, NTP, SYSLOG, SNMP and related network services- Advanced understanding of IP addressing including subnetting and supernetting- Operational understanding of different media and cable types- Experience working from a ticketing system and responding to customers promptly- Provide proactive recognition and correction of network related problems- Provide telephone-based support for ETS services and functions for Tier 3 problems forwarded from the customer, problem escalation and assisting Tier 4 Engineering groups where needed to resolve issues- Provide support to customers during new installations- Work with various customer and ETS support groups in diagnosing ETS service-related problems- Ability to perform maintenance activities outside of normal business hours**EDUCATION/LANGUAGE**- Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS or related technology/engineering discipline preferred or proven experience required- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or proven experience required- English B2**EXPERIENCE / SKILLS**- 5 or more years working with Cisco routing, switching and/or security devices- Cisco CCNP or equivalent proven work experience- Experience in large WAN and datacenter environments- Excellent customer service and communications skills- Service Now experience is a plus- Cloud platforms experience. E.g. Azure, AWS.
