Responsibilities:- Conduct legal research: Utilize various resources such as online databases, legal libraries, and precedent cases to gather relevant information for ongoing cases or projects.- Draft legal documents: Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents such as contracts, briefs, pleadings, motions, and correspondence.- Case management: Organize and maintain case files, including documents, evidence, and correspondence. Ensure all materials are up-to-date and readily accessible.- Client communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates on case progress, answering inquiries, and scheduling appointments or meetings.- Administrative support: Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, handling incoming calls, and coordinating travel arrangements for attorneys.- Courtroom support: Assist attorneys during court proceedings by preparing exhibits, managing documents, and providing administrative support as needed.- Compliance assistance: Assist with compliance efforts by reviewing documents for legal compliance, researching regulatory requirements, and drafting compliance reports or policies.- Legal technology proficiency: Utilize legal software and technology tools for document management, case tracking, and research purposes.Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as pre-law, political science, or criminal justice. Some positions may require a paralegal certificate or equivalent.- Legal knowledge: Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and principles. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations.- Research skills: Proficiency in conducting legal research using online databases, case law, and other resources. Ability to analyze complex legal issues and summarize findings.- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders.- Organizational skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
