Ocean Specialist

Ensure data input within the Cargowise1 system - for cargo from the US Station is successfully completed in order for customer and operations requirements be met or exceeded.**Key Responsibilities**:- Prepares, controls and distributes all required Import/Export documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.) and then checks responses from counterparts and finalizes validation of required documents- Follows-up on shipment status in the Import/Export area; identifies incidents and ensures resolution of incidents- Supports Customer Service in the incident and exception management resolution- Maintains excellent relationships with suppliers- Is responsible for identifying performance issues of suppliers, and proposes solutions to improve/correct performance- Performs IT systems related tasks to provide up to date information on shipment- Communicates with local US Station on issues, questions in order to resolve timely and efficiently.**Skills / Requirements**:- Must be fluent in English language (written and verbal communication) and able to demonstrate abilities.- 1+ years of experience in freight forwarding industry, ocean import/export experience preferred- Strong Understanding of Ocean Freight regulations and documents preferred.- Cargowise system experience.- Attention to detail and excellent oral and written skills required.- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
