Description As a Self-Service Analytics (SSA) Platform Engineer, you will be working on a small team responsible for full stack administration, operation, support and growth of Cargill’s SSA analytic platforms including Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Alteryx. These systems enable thousands of users around the globe and this role will help ensuring those systems are resilient, performant, and reliable. Platform Engineering: 50% ·Maintain and contribute to high quality infrastructure as code with zero-touch deployment, self-healing features, elasticity, and highly available architecture ·Maintain and contribute to initial configurations for Windows and Linux server deployments ·Automate the administration/operations of the infrastructure and applications ·Maintain and contribute to monitoring/telemetry, log aggregation, and reporting/dashboarding on infrastructure performance, application performance, and user behaviors ·Maintain and contribute to standard authentication and access patterns for integrations within Cargill's broader data/technology ecosystem Platform Operations: 40% ·GUI based application administration of Power BI / Tableau / Alteryx including activities such as user access and content management ·Operationally support the infrastructure and applications including break/fix and service requests; 24x7 on-call support when needed; Tier 2+ community support ·Assist in supporting the community in weekly office hours sessions Relationships / Community:10% ·Partner withthe Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) teams to maintain and support application licensing and software distribution ·Maintain SSA’s collaborative working relationships with the broader IT engineering community including the network, proxy, IHS (infrastructure hosting services), security (TGRC) and cloud teams ·Work closely with Cargill’s internal communities to gather feedback and drivereliable platform services and features ·Provide key insights about the platforms including performance and adoption to community stakeholders Qualifications Required Qualifications: ·Bachelor degree or equivalent in experience ·2+ years of experience with engineering globally distributed business applications with demonstrated ability to optimize for resiliency and latency ·2+ years of experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring/telemetry, logging, reporting/dashboarding ·Ability to travel 10% Preferred Qualifications ·Experience with deployment and administration of analytics platform components such as Tableau Server; Tableau Mobile; Power BI Cloud Service; Power BI Premium; Power BI Gateway; Power BI Embedded; Power BI Mobile; Alteryx Server; Alteryx Connect. ·Experience working in virtual teams across multiple timezones with multiple cultures ·Exposure to continuous integration and deployment technologies such as: Jenkins CI, Drone,Github, and Artifactory ·Exposure to cloud-based 'infrastructure as a service platforms': AWS, Google Compute Engine, Azure, or OpenStack ·Exposure to configuration management and automation tools such as: Chef, Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform ·Exposure to development using GitHub & VSTS ·Exposure to scripting with Bash, Python, and/or PowerShell ·Exposure to package management and patching strategy and tooling ·Exposure to enterprise networking and routing, including interface config, DNS, proxies, firewalls ·Exposure to Windows and Linux systems administration ·Exposure to TLS including certificate management and troubleshooting ·Exposure to the Agile mindset and DevOps concepts Job Information Technology
