**_What Financial Planning & Analysis contributes to Cardinal Health_**Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets. Financial Planning & Analysis provides strategic partnership and objective guidance to business units. It leads cross functional efforts to enable forward looking, actionable insights with a focus on driving strategic value that influences key business decisions.**This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial analysis and forecasting activities required to support the Costa Rica site. This includes but is not limited to the preparation and analysis of the financial impact on cost for the plant operations, inventory controls, establishment and evaluation of performance indicators and providing financial and administrative support to plant operations. Work closely with the FP&A Supervisor and Plant Controller P and will assist with her/his responsibilities, including special projects.****Accountabilities**- Support the finance and accounting activities required to support the plant operations including financial reporting and analysis, cost accounting, safeguarding of inventories and other assets, budgeting and forecasting, new parts introductions, product transfers & maintenance of US GAAP and statutory books.- Serve as the financial planning and analysis supporter for the Costa Rica plant, providing financial guidance to the FP& Supervisor, Plant Controller, plant management team and all the site functions.- Maintain the integrity of the standard cost system by analyzing the product scrap rates, labor rates and machine rates and making the appropriate recommendations to update the bill of materials and/or routers.- Thorough understanding and experience in Blackline reconciliation.- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial package for Executive and Corporate Management. Compile and maintain supporting schedules related to reporting.- Contribute to prepare cost quotes as required for new and extended product lines. Maintain healthy profits for the products manufactured in Cost Rica- Execute the month-end close process to include developing the schedule, prepare journal entries, preparing reconciliations and preparing monthly reports.- Performs and analyzes Labor, Wage, IDL Spend variances as the Efficiency Calculation and translate it to operational indicators and targets. Clearly and concisely communicate expected and actual financial results and the activities underlying those results.- Supports development and execution of the weekly reporting process, monthly financial reviews, quarterly forecast, and annual operating planning process.- Performs and analyzes Direct Labor new rates and based in the Cost Poll for Annual Cost Roll update.- Analyze open/closed work order variances by item to determine the BOM accuracy in the Std Cost calculation.- Support and analyze as co-own with he OPEX dept. the VIP (Savings) process to get accuracy and reasonable figures to be reported into the Financial reports.- Analyze standard cost variances related to material purchase price, material usage and labor utilization; prepare monthly summary reports; assist with development of standard cost variance forecasts and budgets.- Analyze and reconcile ERP perpetual inventory reports to ERP general ledger balances; assist with inventory reporting, forecasting, and budgeting, including valuation reserves.- Assist in development of annual updates to ERP standard costs and inventory revaluation.- Responsible along with the FP&A Analyst for having inventory transactions in local currency to be in compliance with local statutory.- Responsible for having all inventory out the Plant to get accuracy in the balance.- Provide accurate and timely inventory and costing reports to the operations teams in order to support the company's continuous improvement approach.- Perform ad hoc analysis of anticipated trends, explain actual vs. prior period vs. forecast results from operations.- Support the Engineering groups in developing the BOM & Routing for new products and oversee the calculation of material, labor and overhead standard costs of these manufactured products- Support Finance and Operations management with ad hoc reports and special projects.- Work with operations teams to analyze inventory for potential excess and obsolete.- Audit the inventory cycle count process to ensure the inventory counts are being done accurately.- Responsible for internal controls and SOX compliance including management of process and timely reporting of all internal and external audit activities.- Hold his direct reports accountable by incorporating EHS performance as part of their performance MBOs.- Require that all EHS procedures and policies are enforced uniformly and consistently.- R
