Tier4 Services, a Data Center and Network Management company seeks System Administrator engineers.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for provisioning, installation and configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, and related infrastructure. The incumbent will participate in technical research and development to enable continual innovation within the infrastructure. The Systems Administrator ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures align with the organization’s strategies.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, operations and support, maintenance, and continual innovation of the following areas:
Operations and Support
? Responsible for Windows and Linux systems: duties comprise installing the server system, doing configuration updating, operating and maintaining the system hardware as well as software, managing the failures in the system, etc
? Troubleshoot and maintain the servers, applications, security, etc
? Responsible for maintaining the network environment as well as the health of the network and servers. Making sure to provide solutions by complying with the security standards of the company
? Install new and/or rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, among others, in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
? Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
? Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
Maintenance
? Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure or/and add new services as necessary
? To be involved in designing, implementing, securing and maintaining the computer systems for its test, development and production environment
? Performing the supporting tasks that are included, but not limited to code deployment, managing source control systems, virtual servers, scripting, etc
? Writing and modifying scripts for application deployments as well as system monitoring
? Developing and overseeing the backup, replication, clustering and failover strategies
? Developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures
? Contributing to and maintain system standards
? Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks
Qualifications and skills
? Technology related bachelor's degree (Computer Science preferred)
? 4-5 years of mid-senior level server administration experience in a large-scale production environment
? Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Linux and Microsoft
? Knowledge of source management (GIT, SVN); Continuous integration (Ansible, Puppet), Container Management (Docker, Kubernets) and A gile Development
? TCP/IP Networking – knowledge of routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, messaging & security
? Databases – knowledge of relational and non-relational databases & integration MariaDB/Galera, MongoDB, other)
? Familiar with Atlassian implementations for High Availability Deployments.
? Working knowledge of Virtualization, Apache, HAProxy, Node/V ue JS, Wordpress,
? Laravel, Gluster
? Experience with deployment of configuration management and automation solutions
? Expertise in building scalable, high-performance development and production infrastructure systems
? Ability to rapidly assess, analyze, and resolve complicated issues with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Proficient in scripting and programming languages is a plus ( Python, Bash)
