Our Infrastructure Specialists are responsible for keeping up with these latest and greatest of these changes and using their expertise to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our customers and products.**Your Role and Responsibilities**You are expected to work on Networking products or solutions based on any vendor hardware /vendor operating system software ( ie Vendor agnostic) with little or minimum support from superiors. E.g. include: Skills on Routers/Switches/ Load balancer. Typical examples of the other deliverables would be of deploying, managing and implementing networking solutions to address client business requirements.Your primary responsibilities include:- Designs and implements local and wide area network solutions, including security, capacity planning, backup and recovery and disaster planning.- Able to work with technical specialists in providing expertise, training, and management.- Analyses business needs plus designs, implements and supports network solutions on one or multiple platforms via LAN or WAN architecture.- Operates at a higher level than a Database Administrator due to specific and verifiable expertise in creating network and enterprise- wide solutions.- Able to manage a team of technicians and administrators and to serve as the last level of support in troubleshooting network usage and equipment.**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**+3 years of experience in related field/technologies- Specialist in network operating (Routing & Switching)- Relative technologies include: hardware, software, protocols, network monitoring and testing, and telecommunications- Certifications may include Novell CNE or MCSE.- Experienced with technical architecture planning, deployment, and troubleshooting.- Ability to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous/under-defined problems- Ability to enable business capabilities through innovation- Looks proactively beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities- High energy, demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies, and takes pride in how fast they develop working software- Demonstrable experience in Routing and Switching concept- Ability to produce RCA of Severity incidents impacting network with minimum support from Superiors/Seniors within team- Hands on experience - Hardware Module, Installation, Configuration, Troubleshooting for the following listed Routers and Switches- Familiarity with access control models and network security- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools- Solid understanding of network operating systems- Sharp troubleshooting skills**Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise**- Familiarity with Agile methodologies- Solid background in network administration, monitoring and architecture- Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work- Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management- Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed- Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications**About Business Unit**IBM Consulting is IBM's consulting and global professional services business, with market leading capabilities in business and technology transformation.
