The Director OTC US plays a strategic role in managing and improving the order-to-cash process with their ownership of all aspects of the U.S. Order to Cash (OTC) Finance functions for SN and the mandate to optimize Accounts Receivable health, customer satisfaction, and cost to serve.What will you be doing?Leads the delivery of collection, cash application, and dispute management activities supporting the U.S. marketImplements strategic initiatives aimed at improving OTC Finance processes, invoice accuracy and delivery, cash inflow, customer satisfaction and reducing operational costs and ensures alignment with the company's overall business objectivesCollaborates cross functionally within the organization to improve OTC processes and be a business partner in enabling pricing, commercial and other strategic initiativesManages key metrics to ensure compliance with service level agreements, KPI's and benchmarks against industry leadersProvides leadership and direction for U.S. OTC Finance Team, mostly based in our centre in Costa Rica and partly in the USCross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable pricing, commercial and other strategic initiativesCultivates an environment that encourages maximum productivity and service effectiveness, professional development, open communication, and teamworkOwnership of all Finance OTC-related financial controlsProvide leadership and program management over our critical effort to bring our AR aging profile into best-in-classProvide direct leadership and management of the respective regional OTC Finance TeamResponsible to hire, retain, and develop team membersEnsures adherence to standardized policies and procedures in U.S. OTC FinanceLead difficult conversations with key customers and stakeholdersProvide input to calculation of bad debt reserve and alerts our business unit partners on potential headwinds/tailwindsEnsure adherence for all SOX process and controls related to U.S. OTC FinanceCollaborate with stakeholders to ensure key performance indicators are measured, communicated, and utilized to drive continuous improvementsOptimize team structure and resources based on the OTC strategyProvide Escalation support and work directly with internal and external customers to resolve issuesManage the relationship with third party collection providersResponsible for Unclaimed Property Data reporting for U.S. collectionsEstablish payment plans with customers and negotiate settlement agreementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, Sales, Customer Service, and Pricing to improve OTC Finance processes and procedures.Drive talent development, succession planning, and team engagementEducation: University degreeQualified accountant or equivalent studies strongly preferredWhat will you need to be successful?Minimum 10 years post qualifying experience8+ years of people leadership experienceBig 4 trained strongly preferredStrong financial accounting skills in IFRSExperience in SAP, FIS GetPaid strongly preferredExperience in a multi-national environment and publicly traded companyExperience working in a SOX regulated environmentExperience in a manufacturing/medical device company is a benefit.Excellent English skillsDeep understanding of the OTC process, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with various departments within the companyStrong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders across multiple and senior levelsProven ability to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems and issues applying advanced analytical thought and judgement linked with excellent communication (oral and written) to senior and executive managementRequires broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within the financial/accounting world and how this integrates within the businessLeadership through multiple level of managers and across multiple disciplines or processesAbility to prioritize work and issues effectivelyAbility to focus on the details while maintaining a grasp on wider concepts;Ability to work independently with limited directionRecommendation of best practices within the finance and business worldAbility to define processes, perform gap analyses, and design and implement process improvement solutions to meet established organization performance goalsAbility to problem-solve in complex situationsStrong communication (written/verbal) and negotiation skillsAbility to develop relationships with key cross-functional stakeholdersTravel Requirements: 10-25% depending on locationYou Unlimited.Inclusion, Diversity and Equity - We are committed to welcoming, celebrating and thriving on Diversity!
