The RoleThe Financial Analyst role has the responsibility of providing support through all phases of the financial planning and analysis processes, including participation in ad-hoc project work. These results are reviewed by the manager and senior team members. The FA will conduct and process large amounts of financial data on a regular basis to create detailed reports based on the observations and analysis results. The FA performs quality reviews to identify financial discrepancies and communicates any risk to the appropriate level. The Financial Analyst will be supporting the Moody's Ratings Expense F&A team**Key Responsibilities**:Support senior members of the team in the execution of financial planning and analysis processes, projects, and ad-hoc requests as required by the Finance organization by embracing the following responsibilities:Provide support on the analytical, forecasting, month end and variance analysis reporting and Ad Hoc projects based on business needs.Collaborate to prepare the monthly reports and variance analysis that will help identify key focus areas for management, in a timely manner with moderate level of guidance from direct manager and/or senior team members.Assist with the preparation of various business planning processes and tasks: forecast, budget, 5 year strategic plan, etc.Assist in inputting forecast and budget projections into Moody's financial reporting system with guidance from direct manager and/or senior team members.Partner with other teams in Business Planning to foster good working relationships with the rest of the organization.Assist in the development of new reporting solutions and identifying key focus areas for management with a moderate level of guidance from direct manager and/or senior team members.Implement standard methodologies for enhancements to processes and reporting, including driving the standardization of activities across business planning to harness efficiencies.Provide support for the development of financial models, including the use of macros with moderate level of guidance from direct manager and /or senior team members.**Experience/Qualifications**:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, or Statistics or similar.1 - 3 years of relevant financial experience with planning and analysis processes is preferred.Good verbal & written english skills.Detail and data quality oriented and able to summarize and communicate findings/analysis.**Knowledge in Microsoft Office (preferably**: Office 365).Good analytical decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of basic accounting concepts.**Key Compeencies**:Desire to learn new skills and cover new challengesGood attention to detail and able to improve and complete recurring processes avoiding errorAble to work both independently and as a member of a team by interacting and collaborating with members of other teams across the organizationAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesApplies knowledge and basic/intermediate problem solving techniques to define and resolve problemsDevelop broad based knowledge of financial instruments, terminology, and related business practices of the FP&A areaAble to provide basic/intermediate support to the business planning processes and deliverables.
