Provides support, training, leadership and problem-solving to the department to ensure a robust implementation of the objectives assigned to the department. Provides direction and actively supports subordinates and maximizes results through an efficient use of budgeted resources.**What You'll Do**- Provides leadership and direction in materials procurement from product concept to design and product cost standard, development and design for AVCR Operation, through interaction with division and site management teams.- Identifies opportunities for cost improvement and develops strategies to optimize the total procurement cost of raw materials, supplies, spare parts, and MRO items.- Assists with management teams at the customer plant level, to support project execution, including methodology to process engineering purchase requisitions, bidding and other supply chain optimization opportunities.- Establishes and oversees the administration of all Corporate, and local Purchasing Policies, Procedures, and works with the Division Purchasing organization to ensure compliance.- Supervises procurement function performance management (PO Management, Contract Management, purchase price variance, days paid outstanding, on-time payment, purchase invoice report), fostering continuous improvement.- Anticipates potential challenges and takes steps to avoid problems. Moves forward productively and optimistically when faced with challenges, shares best practices to help others manage personal workload- Coaches others regarding cost drivers and actions. Owns and drives the budget process for direct material Pricing (including Purchase price variance) and Variable overhead.**Shift**Shift: Admin (Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm)**On-Site position****Required Qualifications**- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Science, Materials, Industrial Engineering or other related areas.- Minimum 7 years of combined Purchasing, Engineering, Planning, Inventory Control, Finance, Operations, or Project Management experience.- Minimum 2 years of Supervisory or leading people experience.- Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish) / Required- Master's degree is a plus.- Medical Device experience is desired.- APICS or other Planning-related certification is preferred.- Experience with SAP preferred.Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
